Yoga is known to keep the balance between body and the mind. It has been beneficial for years to keep our mind and soul calm. Yoga plays a significant role with reading during the world crisis (COVID 19) as it has healing and other alternative therapies. The virus is increasing day by day and by staying home people and students are going through anxiety and depression. To feel happy and stress-free yoga can be the best therapeutic with reading habit helps to relieve stress.
Yoga for Kids
Yoga help the kids to regulate their concentration. They are typically high energy and hyper active. It is quite difficult for us to make them to focus on one thing and they don’t listen at all. If they come to know the importance of yoga they can learn to pay better attention in all walks of life it includes reading, writing and listening.

Hence, we are planning to introduce Mindfulness {a part of yoga } in our school library after the lockdown.
Our Library goal is to teach “being in the present moment” students to help them to do better both in subjects taught in school and to feel more balanced in life. Mindfulness is defined as a mental state achieved by focussing one’s awareness on the present moment, (it is very important for kids while they visit library reading time) they calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique. The aim of the school is focused on the personal wellbeing of the children and staff as well as academic achievement. In KiiT-iS library, our main purpose is to promote reading for pleasure and with global perspective to encourage children to become lifelong independent learners of the world. Mindfulness is the way to make kids more composed and more determined. As an IB school, we promotes the learner profile and approaches to learning. Both of the aspects focus on the child from a holistic perspective. |
In library
A brief meditation on each week will be their for kids in the library. It starts after five minutes of arrival because kids need to settle down. Then they need to follow the instructions with their teacher. Librarian needs to tell the students to close their eyes and place their hands in a comfortable position. He will going to guide the students to focus on their breathing and clearing their minds for two minutes. It will help them a lot to know themselves better. Skills they will learn while reading, their concentration and focus will be their in next level. Then will going to start the regular library works including book transactions, reading session and literacy tips.

A “mindfulness” component to teach children how to calm themselves and focus on whatever they’re facing in the present. “Being in the present means there would be less worrying about the past and less worrying about the future — because worrying is (about something) in the future.”
